I was told it was Padang Bai, which would make more sense as there's already the Lombok RoRo facility there, although there are of course boats from Kusambe. My Indonesian wasn't up to the phone enquiry and neither the manager of my hotel nor an Indonesian friend was able to discover departure times but they said Padang Bai. (You had already communicated your opinion of LP's reliability!) For this reason, plus the potential hassle of having trouble with an off-island bike on Penida, I elected to go direct from Sanur and hire a bike there. I had a copy of Dalton's book in the early 80's: it was the bible then.
