As you would know rates are much better & more negotiable for 2-3 months holiday
Long term as in 6 or 12 months is way cheaper
However for the type of more upmarket 2-3 bedroom villa with aircon & maid that you describe that price is unlikely
If long term in a basic local type house with 2/3 bedrooms & you hire a maid then maybe
Location would probably be not so central
Demand may also not be that high if not advertised & you go through any local contacts you have - so availability may not be an issue during peak time
Have just looked for a 2 bedroom place for around the same time - villas & houses(air con, pool & cleaned)for 2 months around Legian & Seminyak
Many were already booked for later in the year & early 2012 (by guests & owners holidaying there)
Most of the cheaper places that are out there (some on the net)are between 1000 - 2000 a month
Some are down long gangs, some are in ok positions
Some look a bit dark n dingy, others dont
Some have electric problems, others dont
Some have a pool, some don't
If you do go looking once you are there in December then would I be interested to know how you went on the ground finding a Villa as described, price availability etc
