My husband and I spend at least a week in Candi Dasa every year. We love it, have made some wonderful aquaintances. We always like swim in the ocean. Also, we have a friend who takes us to the White Sandy Beach in his boat, and snorkel around the islands on the way. It always seems to be very clean. It is a personal choice, but I don't think the ferries/ships at Paidang would appeal to me. I like to watch them, particularly the Lombok ferries, from the pool area of the hotel we stay in. To me, Candi Dasa is very relaxing and peaceful.
