When staff at customs and/or airport security are in need of money, they confiscate not only alcohol but whatever they can sell. On exiting Bali I was told that the laptop battery was illegal to take on the plane and almost had the whole laptop confiscated. So just the battery was confiscated, which sstill was very annoying and expensive.
