Just back from a quick 5 day trip. Left Perth on Thursday 19th, flying Garuda, great flight, 10 - 15 mins after landing in Bali we were out the front of the airport. Stayed at Febris for the second time, had a ground floor room right close to the pool, could'nt have asked for a better room, very happy!
Did'nt do much at all, small amount of shopping, made sure I had my fair share of massages. Had a great manicure/pedicure at the Febris Spa on the Friday. I have used the Spa at Febris numerous times and have always been very happy with their service.
We went to the school at Sobangan on Saturday to visit our two sponsor children. This is the third time we have met up with them in the last 10 months and it was so lovely to see them again. The Rotary Clubs involved in this project do a wonderful job, if anyone is thinking of sponsoring a child, just do it.
The reason for this trip was for a friends 50th on the Saturday night. The party was at Impala 60's (right next door to Kartika Plaza), what a great venue for a party! About 50 of us had flown over for the party, the majority staying at Kartika and the rest of us scattered around over various hotels. It was a fantastic night, excellent food, great band and a good time was had by all. Went to the Bounty after the party finished for the first ever time in all my trips to Bali! We all enjoyed ourselves and it was just what I had expected. Can certainly understand why all the young ones love it!
Thought I might feel a little out of place but there was people there older than me lol.
Sunday was spent recovering - lying around the pool and sleeping, needed it after my big night out! We went back to Impala 60's for dinner that night, another lovely meal. I have passed this restaurant numerous times but I must admit it had'nt appealed to me. It has had a change of owner in the last 18 months or so and he has done wonders, it always looked a little scruffy (just in my opinion). The service is wonderful, food and prices are excellent. Go and give it a try, you'll be very impressed.
Went up to Legian on Monday, browsed through Garlic Lane (my favourite area to shop), had a lovely lunch at Mozzarella. I prefer to stay the Legian end of Bali, not quite sure why, just like the feel of it and love the Kumala Pantai. My husband said he would like to pick up Febris and put it next to KP and it would be perfect! Febris certainly is excellent value for money and I would definitely stay there again if we were to stay in Kuta/Tuban.
Flight home was uneventful, landed in Perth and waited about an hour to get through immigration/customs etc. So good to see so many smiling Australian faces at customs - just joking lol!
Begining the countdown now until our September trip, Bali was beautiful as always............
