We often see some one in a wheel chair, so not uncommon.
Of course you can hire (even if just for around the hotel)
www dot bali mobility dot com or www dot bali accesstravel dot com/ take out the spaces.
The chair will collapse and fit into a taxi boot.
Just be sure to pick a hotel that is shower and wheel chair friendly.
