This is one place that i would steer well clear of. Another guest who was staying at the same hotel as us had his holiday absolutely ruined there.
He was pick pocketed, and as he noticed it was happening, he attempted to get it back, only to be jumped on by several rough looking indonesian type people. When security finally got him out he found that they had sliced the top half of his ear off. He got it sewn back on at a local clinic, 6 stitches at the front and 16 at the back, and not allowed to surf for his whole trip. It seems that many unsavoury types are allowed to hang around there.
Too risky for my liking.
