Although I have not stayed here myself, my friend recommends Lovina Beach Houses which are 2 bedroom villas with own pool. I stayed at a hotel called Rambutan a few weeks ago. It was ok for the price but definitely no villa :)
I love Ubud and always stay at Greenfields on the edge of town. Lovely and peaceful overlooking rice paddies, but still close to town. Different levels of rooms but the one I stay in is 500,000rp per night and is perfect..
