For years we have been taken medicine including some heavy pain relievers , we have never been asked about them and the wife carries them in large hand bag. Second last trip we were coming home to Perth and she was asked about them when they searched hand luggage before getting into the last departure lounge. My wife said she had a doctors letter for them but was misunderstood by official who said oh you are a doctor that ok then. As long as you have a letter saying what they are everything will be fine but you will more than likely not even be asked
