Strictly speaking if you are over your limit then it should be confiscated/destroyed (as per the customs forms)by cutoms in Denpasar
ie cannot pay duty on extra
However if you do a search of the forum..
Some pay a bribe, "gift" to customs officials
Some take extra & are not queried on it
Some use different methods to conceal the extra
Up to you which way you choose to go
