We were trying to get 24 million rupiah to pay the deposit on my land purchase. Went to many banks and the daily limit at all the banks was 3 millionrp. One bank did tell us that there is one in Kuta that will give you 10million but can't remember which one. However if you take cash you can change large amounts at the larger Money changers, this is the best way to go and no bank fees. We ended up having to do multiple dauly transactions over 3 days to get the 24 million.
Australian banks are not linked to Indo banks, not even Commonwealth.
