being married for quite some time to an Indonesian I have no objection to relationships between 'tourists' and 'locals'. But in any culture, and any mix of nationalities, I say YUCK to grown men with rented 16 year old girlfriends.
I'm sure you know the type of girl - they dress in a particular way - so there is no mistaking their occupation. You know the type of man too.
A decent bloke would not put himself in such a situation, particularly in a culture like Bali, where morals are still very important in society. A decent girl also does not dress in that way, or go unaccompanied with a grown man, particularly a 'tourist'.
There is nothing narrow minded about the opinion, I'm a pretty broad minded kind of gal, but I draw the line at paedophilia thanks very much, or if the girl is just on the other side of legal, I also object to taking advantage of poverty in such a way.
