After years of going to Bali and staying all over the island, we have just stayed at Candi for the first time. We were a little south of town in a villa, but we really loved the area. Went to 'white sandy beach' about 5 minutes north of town many times. Has a Jimbaren, 20 years ago feel about it, lovely beach with tons of warungs, and beautiful fresh seafood. The water was an incredible aqua blue, and we were able to swim a fair way out snorkelling.
Candi, the township is not much chop, but there are many very nice looking restaurants,..just need people!! A good clean supermarket for snacks and supplies. A few nice shops for clothes or nicknacks.
For things to do, you have the wonderful Water Palace, Amed for a look about, or Talumben for diving. Then there is swimming, eating and drinking. What else do you need to do in Bali?
Two nights will give you a look in on the place, but we are looking forward to going back later in the year for a week or two.
