Friday, 13 May 2011

Looking to expand operations in mid-west Australia, regional carrier, Skywest Airlines announced it will launch weekly flights between Geraldton to Denpasar in Bali.

Increased operations and services comes a day after the carrier announced its load factor for the month of April increased by 4.41 percent to 56.35 percent from 51.94 percent in the same month last year.

Ticket sales for the new service commence from 22 May this year, with the new route designed for leisure and commercial travellers.

The carrier is also looking to add flights between Geraldton to Pilbara as well as the East Cost of Australia to Melbourne from July 2011.

In support of growing operations the airline said it has acquired an option to lease an Airbus A320-231.

The proposed agreement to borrow from Aviation Pic, would see the carrier incorporate the aircraft to its service for up to four years from August this year.
For the financial year to date, Skywest has welcomed a 0.69 percent rise in passengers carried from 298,000 during the same period last year to 300,000 this year.
