Apparently Typhoid does happen in Bali. I know one forumite that was very sick with it and a guy in the next room had it when we were there a couple of times ago, so within the last year. Don't know that it is particularly common certainly not as common as Dengue.
It was after Brian got dengue which of course there is no shot for, that we decided to check what we should be having apart from the obvious Tetanus. Deciding it was time to start being more careful we went to the Travel Doctor and ended up having Hep A and an oral Typhoid.
What was interesting was that the Travel Doc told us that there is anecdotal evidence that the oral anti Typhoid option seems to give protection against some kinds of gastro.
