We were down the far end on the third floor, rooms 333 and 335, and heard no noise whatsoever. This was the quieter end of the lagoon pool. I imagine that up near the pool bar end things would have been noisier, especially because there is a shallow, raised pool where the kids swim. I would definitely stay down the far end again, even though it is further to walk for breakfast etc (but not that much further). The Lagoon Access rooms looked good (same room structure as Lagoon View, but with the pool at your door), however I would definitely opt for the far end for one of them. Any rooms from x33 onwards would be the quietest.
The rooms at the Padma in the lagoon wing are beautiful, you will have no complaints about them. Didn't get to see inside the chalets etc.
