Hey, I have also stayed at Inna Kuta in a cottage and yes they are a bit tired, however on staying in several other places in Kuta, that is about the norm.
I have been in the rooms at the Kuta Paradiso and it is very up market, like staying 4 star in Sydney. A bit too sterile for me for a long stay though. Enjoy whatever you choose, Im hanging out for September to get back.
