mostly for location and not so busy, stayed at both though not recently but have visited both recently and just prefer the Griya, it still has a small hotel feel despite renovations, the beachfront pool area is lovely.You can easily walk from your hotel along the beach to lots of great cafes, markets and activities.There are cafes near the Puri but the beach part is a bit messy once you are past the hotel and you need the street for wider variety of cafes. Depends on your holiday needs :)
