Went to Mozzarella's in Jl Padma as I liked the look of the decor and furnishings but was disappointed with the food. Tried Mozzarella on the beach (same restaurant basically but give it another chance) and same result.
Unfortunately many restaurants that were quite good like Seaside, Tekor, Blue Ocean and Zanzibar on the beach road have become a bit complacent and have let their standards slip though you still might want to go to one of them because of the novelty of eating outdoors and by the beach as an introduction to Bali. If you don't mind not being on the beach then possibly consider Yut'z, Cafe Malzano or Warung Asia.
For finer dining you'd need to be prepared to travel to somewhere like Ultimo in Jl Laksmana/Oberoi in Seminyak IMHO.
