As mentioned below in many posts the best way to do this is with a personal driver. They will take you exactly where you want to go and show you other stuff as well.
Everyone has a favourite to reccommend. If you are lucky you will have a friend for life.
Ubud markets were a bit of a culture shock for my 22yo daughter.....
If you are going all the way to Ubud it is worth throwing in a temple of two or the Elephant Safari while you are at it...you are already there!
