You'll need to act fast if you want to get rooms for August. I booked mine in January and a few places were already fully booked back then. I got a room for $80 a night in Legian so it is possible, but that price was discounted as I'm staying there for a month.
There are places around for under $100 but even places that were charging $40 a night just a few years ago are now charging $70 for that same room. Bali is busy and prices have gone up due to the demand.
