Can't help with a money changer near the Cendana, but the big bank/money changer in Ubud seems to be the one that Balihopeful is talking about.
I think it's a couple of doors down/near to Ary's Warung on Jalan Raya Ubud. It's set back from the road a bit and looks like a bank.
With regards to WWR, I have researched this before.
I went rafting with Ayung River Rafting a few years ago and there was heaps of steps down and then back up again. Mrs Skiggy couldn't walk for days after.
The one that I'm hearing about for fewer steps is Bali International Rafting. Apparently it's a longer ride for less money and from memory I think it's on a different river. You might have to research that yourself.
