The flight actually starts in Manila and arrives in Darwin at 5am. So if there are any delays on that flight it may leave a little late from Darwin. That said 2.5 hours is enough time to catch up on smaller delays. Plenty of people sleeping on couches and the floor overnight. The airport is tiny so you won't have any issues walking between gates etc.
