the standard are traditional bali bungalows room with bed and attached bathroom with verandah. they probably are a little dark but most people sit on their verandahs. the deluxe rooms are right down the back of the property and have large bedrooms with a verandah on the back and front. the pool is north south facing and gets the sun all day. we are pool people but the pool is adequate there is so much to do in ubud that i don't spend a lot of time around the pool. i have stayed at the cendana and it is very similar but does have two good sized pools. at both places breakfast could be better but in ubud it is the same at many hotels. unless you are very fussy both hotels are great.
