you will still need to pay for your first KITAP it is the renewals that they are saying will be free. The cost for the KITAP itself is Rp3million plus another small fee for biometrics etc, If you do it yourself you will need a trip to Jakarta. Agents charge between 20-30 million for a KITAP - I have had a quote of 25 million from my agent which is impossible for me to pay so will be doing it myself in June of the law has been ratified and everything is in place by then. Otherwise it will be one more year of KITAS for me.
