My sister and i headed to bali for 10 days, she hadn't been for 12 years. We flew Jetstar and i was amazed at arrivals,no waiting straight through, last year it took 2 hours lol.
We went straight to Ubud to the Komaneka, have stayed there a few times before and just love it,we were upgraded staright away to a pool villa, woo hoo.My sister was very impressed and we quickly settled into late brekkies, long walks and great food.our fav in Ubud was indus great food.
We used a driver to go to segawati ? markets.wow we had a ball everything you can buy at a market stall is available here at a fraction of the price. It was not hard to navigate around it was basically a long street selling everything you could want,a hint would be to go as early as possible before the crowds descend.
Feeling energetic 1 day we did a rice paddy walk, that was amazing. We had a 7 km walk, stopping in villages, waterfalls local houses it was great and something i had not done before but enjoyed. We also had high tea at buka tea house.we hadn't booked but were lucky enough to get it.it was great gorgeous setting and lovely food.
For the last 4 days we stayed at the Ramayana in Kuta.A big contrast to our lovely villa in Ubud but i had arranged for us to go to a temple ceremony in Nusa Dua with old friends. It felt very humbling to be walking with the locals in their procession towards Nusa Dua beach and watch their lovely Hindu ceremony.
All the usual things to do in Kuta, matahari for bits, legian for a leather jacket, eating, dvd's.
Weather last week was amazingly good,no rain, exchange rate was 9100IDR airport both ways was easy and quick, jetstar behaved and delivered us ahead of time.....Can;t wait for next trip with hubby in tow.
