JBR part one arrival/casa padma
My brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son and myself arrived from Melbourne on 2nd April which was my son's 12th birthday. Hubby and daughter arriving a week later.
We flew Jetstar, left on time and arrived 10 min early. Straight through in record time of 20 min out to meet our hotel driver.
Our home for the next week was deluxe suite ground floor at Casa Padma. We have stayed at 5 star resorts to budget hotels for the passed 10 trips. We have been really impressed with the Casa Padma.
When we arrived there were rose petals around the bath and on both of the beds, and a flower arrangement on the dining table. On our second week a lovely cake was delivered from Utami the manager.
We were concerned about the reports of loud music from the Legian Pub till late at night, no problems at all from our room.
The Deluxe rooms are huge, plenty of room for a family of 4. Two king size beds, lounge with a 1 and 2 seater , coffee table, desk, dinning table with 4 chairs, entrance table, cupboard with fridge inside and on top kettle with tea/coffee etc.
Large flat screen tv that is on a swivel so you can watch tv either in bedroom or lounge. No dvd player, no problem as we brought a small one form home. Fridge is very small, but we had our insulated party tub for our bintang's and mixers, just topped up with ice everyday. Bathroom large with a separate bath and shower, vanity with cupboard below and toilet. If I was to find a fault with the room it would be that it needs a door on the changing room, and that is only because we have a teenage daughter that likes some privacy when changing. We just pinned up some a blanket that I had for the plane.
The hotel has a U-shape pool with different depths and a nice pool area at one end with lots of pool lounges with table and chairs. Our room was at the other end with only 2 sun lounges which were hardly used.
Breakfast was a choice of 2 eggs any way, bacon, ham, sausage or mixed meats, white or brown toast, croissant, juice or fruit platter, tea/ coffee. Or banana pancake, juice and tea/coffee. We only ate at Drops restaurant once for dinner and lunch. Great menu and the food was lovely. I had the ribs and the meat just fell of the bone. Our Son had their volcano pizza a couple of times from room service. The pizza had a covering which was inflated with a bike pump before going into the wood fired oven. When it was served, alcohol was poured over the top and set on fire. He loved them and the pizza looked spectacular when it was lit.
Staff at Casa Padma were all lovely and nothing was a problem. Would we stay here again? yes we would. Location is fantastic close to everything and a couple of min walk to the beach.
Our Canadian friends were waiting for us across the road at the Legian Pub with a cake with a candle on it for Lachie's birthday, which was so nice of them. Lots of Bintangs later it was time for some shut eye.
More on later
