I first read about these demon monkeys 11 years ago. They are probably thoroughly indoctinated, trained and rewarded for being bad by now (trading bananas for stolen goods etc.) I liked your phrase "..armed only with bananas..."
I recommend a rat tail :^) Any towel will do..
