Us hubby and 2 boys all fussy abotu what they eat and not very adventurous.
The flight:
Different to last years flight which was on a bigger plane and which connected through a tunnel directly into the airport building This time it was down the wobbly steps and directly onto the tarmac. 25 mn from touch down we were out of the airport and headed to the car. Longest wait would have been for bags to arrive ( 10 mins) and includes queue for shuttle bus and changing over a small amount of money.
Most regretted missed photo opportunity of the drive would have to be the two guys on a scooter carrying a small wooden window complete with glass. The pinion passenger was holding the window but it was balanced in the foot well in front of the driver. Effectively giving him a windscreen. As long as there were no accidents they'd do ok. We are staying at the Gardenia in Sanur.
First tea at the Cat and the Fiddle. POwer went out for around 20 mins while we were waiting for the band to start. details on what we had and prices etc on blog.
day 2. Breakfast included in our stay . Always nice
Hardy's visit for snacks, drinks sim cards and to change money at the circle K across the road. Hubby needs a hat. No idea what he paid from a street stall.
Hardys
There's now a metal detector to walk through and they check bags as you go in. All the watch, sunglasses, handbag sellers, large print photo canvas sellers have been shifted to the top floor since our visit last August. Youngest buys a watch in Hardys while I'm organising the sim cards for our phones. We hunt down the sandshoes in Hardys closest to the ones we bought youngest last year and buy some more. I manage to trip and fall down the last step as we walk down the steps to the ground floor at Hardys. Slight bruised and sore knees and one slightly sore ankle but I'm fine just embarrassed.
Thens it's off to JInggo leather just down the road to organise soem shoes.
Taski back to the Gardenia , feet up and a scotch then some lunch. Green chicken curry for me! Eldest seems to be starting a trend with fish and chips. Husband and youngest with hamburgers. Taksi's are costing just over the 10,000 Rp on the meter but if you try without the meter they all want 20, 000.
Seems my left knee is a bit more sore than I though and needs a couple of scotch and cokes and some panadol to help with recovery. I take the 2nd one to the pool and sit dangling my legs into the pool with my newly purchased book ( periplus 79,000Rp ) for company. No problem.
more to come
more details on the blog as it would have been too long for here.
