JB2G - Just ‘bout 2 go report!
I'm having heart palpitations just sitting here. This time tomorrow, we'll be just about to land in beautiful Bali for two weeks of holidays (my longest holiday EVER). See, I'm a white knuckle flyer. Flying for me is usually made worse by the company of my partner, who behaves like a two year old on planes, whinging 'are we there yet?' even before we've boarded the flight! I'm convinced that he's an undiagnosed ADHD sufferer, the way he shifts in his seat every two seconds, whining at me and moaning that we wants a cigarette. We're flying Air Asia and although 5:00am is not really an appropriate time to eat it, I've ordered a fried rice meal for the both of us to distract us for 5.195546 minutes that we are hovering above the ground completely dependent on several motors which could potentially break down and send us crashing back to....
Earth, heaven on earth.. That's Bali... We've got 4 nights at KTH of blissful ‘couples' time before mobs of his extended family arrive, and we take over the Casa Padma. I'm not 100% sure, but I think there's around 20 of us, like a big Greek mob (we're not Greek, but my gosh the men in this family are hairy enough to pass as Greek, no offence!!). Am I going to regret paying for my mother-in-law to join us? (Probably, she looks better in a bikini than I do!) Good old Uncle Colin has come up with a full blown day by day schedule for us (I did note that no nightclubbing was scheduled though!), no rest for the wicked.
Usually, I'm a total control freak and completely prepared. This time, I'm not. And that in it's self is freaking me out. There's so much to do - clean house for house sitter, pack, re-check my packing to make sure I haven't gone a bit too crazy (which I do, every time), spend time with the poor dog who is going to absolutely hate us for leaving him (he would love it in Bali..little mutt), grocery shop for the house sitter, locate passports, supervise partners packing, get the US dollars...
But at 8:30 tomorrow, it's Bali time baby... And none of this, and none of my work, and none of my money will be on my mind.
Wishing you all a safe, happy & enjoyable easter.
Pussum xx
