3 of us want quite a bit made in June - leather as well as linens.

The problem is that businesses that get fave reviews here tend to get swamped & they can't cope with all the extra work. Rather than say no, sorry can't do it (as Tommy Leather does) they farm out the work & they results can be shonky &/or very varied. This happened to me with House of Komang (which was popular here at the time) - 2 copies of the same dress made with vastly different results. Other things I had made were only worth throwing in the bin. And not cheap.

I don't mind paying for quality but I really hate being ripped off. I can sew myself so I expect a better deal in Bali than what I can make things for here. Some tailors there seem to be pricing themselves out of the market.

After an adverse post here 2 weeks or so ago I emailed Cintya - she said she was late only once as she had to find a villa that was off the beaten track. She will give me ballpark quotes for what we want done when I get details from my friends.

But it all seems to be too hard. Holiday time is too precious to spend waiting around for someone you're paying. (Mr Honeyman, the glasses man, BTW, was always early.)

I'll be looking for a good tailor in June & if I find one I sure won't post details on here LOL.
