What time did they get home from the nightclub? Are they positive they lost it at the hotel?
In my 25 years of Bali experience I have seen drunken clowns drop their wallets, pay their 500,000 rupiah bill with $500, leave their wallets on a bar and wander away, give their wallets to their new prostitute friend or the great Indonesian guy who they have just befriended and is their bestest friend for ever.
There is a lot more to that however I do not want to bore you to death about fools and giving away their hard earned money.
However none of these folk will take responsibility for their own action. It is ALWAYS stolen from their hotel.
It is not fair to always blame the cleaners.
Yes, theft happens anywhere in the world however people have to be responsible for their own actions.
