Firstly I tend not to recommend places as everyone has different tastes & expectations
I'd rather just list alternatives - which may or may not suit
Would I pay $70 per night for the old unrenovated looking 2 bedroom bungalow at Kusuma...no...but others might :)
I'd rather take a 2 or 3 bedroom at Kumpul 2 or 3 (especially if it's a longer holiday) or a house if available & similar (or not much more) in price
or.
2 rooms in a budget clean hotel
We had someone look at Kusuma recently as we were looking for a 2 bedroom for 2 months and decided we wanted somewhere different from Kumpul this time.
Very difficult to find budget 2 or 3 bedroom around there for a reasonable price
Puspa Bungalows are basic but no pool & recently wanted 12m per month
Villa Pisang Mas you are already familiar with :)
(btw the cleaning did not get better it only went downhill & family member has now moved elsewhere)
Sari Uma have bungalows but a quite a bit more per night
Villini & Alizee look ok & are a reasonable price but they are further out in Seminyak
I do know of 3 houses near Kumala Pantai - No pools
that are around 600/wk (not sure if still available etc)
Was sent photos of them
And other houses around 2000+ per month but these are usually rented on a monthly basis
