it's generally not going to make one iota of difference because they will listen to their friends first anyway.
Lots of good advice here and rose coloured glasses, but the fact is that this will happen again tommorrow, the next day and in fact for the foreseable future.
Kids (and adults) will continue to be maimed and die doing this stuff.....whether they have a licence or not.
The licence is not an invisible shield!!

I think you have copped it a fair bit here for "allowing" this, but the circumstances are not clear as to how it came about.
I forbade many things when our daughters were terrorising us......luckily we all more or less survived their total rejection of any advice offered where it didn't suit.
