The food used to be quite authentic & reasonably priced. It was always a must do but no more. Food is spiced down & exey now.

I agree that the carts & warungs where the locals eat are great for Balinese & Indonesian food. Just be sure there is a high turnover, esp at Padang places. I always ask hotel staff where they eat. Wherever there are hotels there are warungs catering to the hotel staff.
