in nice surrounds try Ketupat, almost opposite Kopi Pot on Jalan Legian.
Some of the best local food is to be found just wandering Jalan Benesari, and through to Gang Ronti.
Look at the menu, look at the place and if it does it for you go on in.
If you want to really walk on the wild side, go to the beach and try a small sate or something you may like off one of the carts.....theres some really tast stuff there too.
There is also a large local type food hall close to the entrance to Poppies 1 at the beach end.
Take your choice of many vendors vying for your business....but take ear plugs!!
