Just returned from 10 days at Sanur Beach Villas, won't do day by day but highlight some different things we did this time.
By accident met the lovely people from Kupa-Kupa foundation who work with disabled kids in Bali. What a wonderful afternoon that was and a worthwhile organisation which I will continue to support.
Did the Bintang Bike ride. Wow it was a great day and reccomend it to anyone. There were 13 of us ranging from 11 years to 75 years of age, most of it was downhill and you ride through small villages from Kintamani down to Ubud, a stop at a typical family home is very interesting and the lunch at the end is delicious!!
Went to the Safari Park, a great day and worth the visit, ate at the main restaurant, reasonable prices and great food.
In Sanur dined at Beach Cafe,Caesars, Resto Ming, Cafe Batujimbar, Cafe Jepun, Kesumas, and got home delivery from Sale n Pepe. Would reccomend all of them, yum yum!!
Found Ketuts & Miss Debbys in Legian to be great first day shopping to get an idea of what to pay everywhere else. Ate at Ours, good meals.
Ate at Segara in Discovery Kuta, one day for lunch. A great booth overlooking the beach, the Chilli Crab was delicious and the view fantastic.
Went to the Jimbaran Fish markets, what an experience! Got some great photos, and 4k of prawns, a reef fish, 2k of lobster tails and some calamari for $120. Cooked on the BBQ at SBV, very nice indeed.
Finally got the guts to get a tattoo, went to Sanur Ink. My sister and I both got one, very clean, proffessional and quick. They look awesome!!!!
Most of us took clothes to give away over there, found people where we were staying who loved them, gave some to the lady at Neesa Laundry and gave the kids form Kupa - Kupa a lot also. If you can take anything do it, better than going with an empty bag, they are very grateful!!!
Hate the midnight flight home, although only 60 people on the Virgin flight to Brisbane last night so room to spread around. Look forward to trying Strategic next time.
Once again SBV was a great base, and the staff there were fantastic as always!
The Balinese people and there traditions continue to draw us back, such a simple life.
Cheers,
Jo. :))
