Getting there and back. Flew Strategic. More than impressed. On time both ways. Full service, good movies. The Kings Speech on the way over, thoroughly enjoyed that because he was my King and it happened in my life time.I was alive when his Coronation took place. Still got the invite somewhere, still checking the mail box for the wedding this month. The movie on the way back, well I missed the title.I took the grand kids to see a pirate film a while ago, I think it was the bloke from that movie, Jack Sparrow I think his name is, as for the female in the picture, haven't got a clue who she is except that it is the chick with the fat lips. Tucker as good as it can be on an aeroplane. Coffee HOT ! The fare was good, last time I paid more with Airasia and got nothing, no pillow, no blanket nothing. We will continue to fly with them.
Our first time in Bali was 1974 and I can tell you that we have done a few trips over the years, as each new airline came on we would sus them out; without success I might add; in regard to them waiving the excess baggage charge in the case of genuine charitable donations. Strategic were sympathetic so I booked a seat and hit them with a boxed 30kg wheelchair, a folding wheelchair and my own luggage. No problems. No excess baggage charge. For which I am truly grateful as
one child is now mobile and another one a few days away from mobility.
More of this later.
The problems that I thought would arise were twofold, one, getting all the luggage through, two, an unsympathetic money hungry customs man. I overcame the first problem by engaging the best VIP service available in Bali and was outside in 15 minutes at the most. I will not name the VIP service for fear of somebody starting something but if you wish to know my email is open. The customs man looked at the large box asked me if it was donated, I told him it was and he waved me through. It was absolutely wonderful to see a beautiful young Balinese lady looking for,and smiling at me before giving me a kiss and a cuddle on my arrival.
End of Part I ( If I only had the flair of Wharfie.)
There could be four parts and I may reveal the details of the beautiful young Balinese lady, then again I may not.
