I guess that as a traveller who has handed a passport over to complete strangers hundreds of times (in fact I cannot remember ever handing it over to someone that I actually know!!)I am conditioned to doing this without expecting the receiver to sprint off with it at a whim.
These exchanges have been at airports, post offices, money changers, hotels, shipping staff and yes.....even through the lottery of Aust. Post.
People will always find a reason not to use a service, just as others will find good reasons to use the same service.
This is freedom of choice......a wonderful thing indeed.
