Yesterday we went on a half day trip. 11 of us, so 2 vehicles, my family are the only ones that have been here before. So we took the others to Padang Padang, to walk down the cliff (Next beach to dreamland) for a swim, then to Blue Point Villas for a few hours swim and lunch. They loved the wet edge pool, that blends in with the ocean. Not cheap but who cares, the 16 year olds and all of us LOVED it. For 200,000RP you can swim, included towel, a drink and lunch. So we did stay for a couple of hours. Then off to Uluwatu temple, cost of entry was only 3,000rp per person includes sash and sarong. The driver walked us through. Didn't get there until about 4.30pm. Stayed about an hour and watched the sun change colours over the temple. The monkeys were funny We had removed all sunglasses, hats, jewllery earrings, necklaces etc and had no problem. The squeals were very funny from the girls that were scared but they loved it. The cliff walk was like a mini great wall, spectacular and worth it. We decided that was enough for the day.
So our friends left back for Legian and we got our driver to drop us back to jimbaran bay to 2nd section (closest to Keraton Beach Hotel) for dinner at Lia Restaurant. Fantastic! With Correct Bali prices compared to night before. 290,000Rp was the package we chose for 2 people that included lobster, crab 7 prawns and 7 clams, 2 small bintangs, plus soup, salad, rice, spinach and fruit. The menu also included indo food so kids all opted tonight for chicken sate, and they too got all the same extra food side bits except for the bintangs of course. Now this section may not look as nice from the back entry into little inside room, but beach sitting as great and food was fine. Just remember take tissues for the bathroom if you need to. Also there are singers, musicians that will serenade you at your table then ask for a tip, which adds to the ambiance of the place.
Section 1, closest to airport is the tourist section where we ate at Jukungs the night before - the price incorporates free transfer to and from your hotel , balinese dancers and of course the weighted scales, but food was good and we wanted to try and see the difference.
Leaving puri bambu today to go to Kumala Hotel. It has been a great stay here. Very pretty small place. Have to leave before check out time of midday, as I have to work this week, starting today. Have organised a transfer this time as we have the surfboard to take us to Kumala.
