Staying at SBV, before we came Ron had asked us to bring pool floats for a person who wanted to use them for disabled kids. Yesterday Begonia who runs the foundation came to pick up what we had brought over. She didn't realise we would be there and asked us if we wanted to meet the kids as they were in the car. So in they came, 10 or so gorgeous little souls who jut melted our hearts. The Kupu-Kupu foundation picks the children up in the morning and then drops them back to their families at night. They teach them songs and they sang one with us. We were all bawling our eyes out,the kids just kept smiling. Hubby works for bunnings and had brought over some footballs and we blew them up and gave them to them, they loved them. My 11 year old nephew sat & played with one boy who was around the same age, what an amazing experience for him also. We had clothes as well so we gave everything to them to share around.
Next time we will get Begonia to bring the children early and let them splash in the pool, apparently they love the water.
I bring donations over but never go to the orphanges as I know I would be a mess, and I was yesterday. But it was a very humbling experience, one which makes you appreciate where you were born and the life you have.
An experience we will always treasure!!
