...at Palm Gardens before. I was there last year with husband and 2 teenagers. It is quite basic but we really liked it. So much so that my daughter requested we stay there again this year - she prefers simple and quiet over flash and luxurious.
The breakfast is basic, the staff fairly reserved, the rooms a little tired....but it is cheap and just fine for our needs. We found it relaxing and unpretentious.
I will be there with one daughter and a friend on 21 April, maybe I'll see you there!
I recommend the Little India restaurant nearby (turn left at main street intersection after walking away from beach) and the Pink Ladies massage past the Hyatt on the beach footpath. The 20 min walk is how we earn our massages.
After staying at the Palm Garden last year we spend a few days at the Hard Rock in Kuta. You couldn't find 2 more different extremes! I loved them both for their different qualities, it's fun to mix it up a bit.
