Have a look around you on Australia Day, wherever you are.
Have a look around you on NYE, Sydney, Trafalgar Square, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Manchester....you name it.
There are drunken louts, male and female, old and young all around.
King hit experts and glassing merchants, rubbish strewing louts, rich and poor.
What you see in Bali is just a concentration of behaviour and attitude that regrettably has become the "norm".
Going elsewhere may lessen the chances of encountering this behaviour, but unfortunately Bali does not have a mortgage on this sort of behaviour....it is an inevitable part of our "western" world.
