We are booked for three weeks in late Aug / early Sept.
This will be our third trip in three years to Bali (mum+dad+7YO daughter). The previous two trips, we spread our time between Sanur, Candi Dasa & Ubud using these as bases to explore the south east, east coast & highlands around Ubud. I wouldn't say we exhausted these areas, but we gave them a really good shake.
This time, we would like to stay somewhere different. Where do you suggest?
I'm keen on the Central Highlands (i.e. Munduk / Bedugal area) for local markets, trekking, Treetops, Pura Bratan.
But I've pretty much rejected the Gilis. They seem too one-dimensional (i.e. no culture other than beach r&r), plus my wife gets sea sick.
Lovina is a possibility, but I suspect may dissappoint compared to the East Coast, which we have really enjoyed. Instead of basing our selves there, we may just visit as a day trip from Munduk.
We will definately finish the trip with a few days in Seminyak where we will catch-up with a friend of ours who runs a villa there.
What do you reckon? Any thoughts on where we should spread our wings this time?
