We hired a car and got an australian child seat from Bali Baby Care and they gave us a portable strap that gives a fixing point like in australian cars. We used there Bali Navigator GPS as well and it was great to get around.
We have seen some of the safety seats there that are just held by the car seat belts but this is just like having a booster seat and not 5 point harnes with tether strap for up to 5 years olds.
They will rent a car with drver set up for kids to, but it just depends what you are looking for.
