Hubby and I flew Jet* Melbourne to Darwin then on to Bali, arriving at
8.45pm.Did the VIP***, so easy through customs. Picked up by our driver to take us to Aleesha Villas in Sanur where we would spend the next 10 days.Greeted by rain, but hey, it's beautiful Bali so who cares?
The villa we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous, so clean. Private pool and an easy walk to the main road. The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble.Great breakfast delivered to the villa each morning, towels were white and fluffy and replaced each day.We actually counted the amount of mozzies we saw - it was easy because it was only two! Sure there was probably more lurking around, but we didn't get bitten.
The next day we went to Dr ** in Seminyak where I had botox treatment. 32 units @ 85,000 per unit. Just wanted something to refresh myself, was made redundant from my job of 12 years, two months ago, so will be back in the workforce soon I hope! Bali was my place of healing from that setback.
Our driver who picked us up to take us to Seminyak then took us to Carrefour for some shopping.Back to the villa where I had arranged for our regular guy to deliver some DVD's, then off to Massimo's for dinner.

The next day we went to Lotus Pond for dinner then onto Lazer Sports bar to listen to the local band. They asked if anyone wanted to get up and sing and I pushed my husband to get up. He is actually in a band (duo) here in Melbourne, so I knew he wouldn't embarrass me!
The crowd wouldn't let him stop, and the band loved him. They kept asking him to sing more. When you buy a cocktail there, you get one free, so after quite a few, I got up and sang with my husband too.
The owner came over and gave us free drinks and asked if we would come back on Friday to sing again. At the time we said yes, but by then I had developed a cold so we didn't go.
The next day felt a bit seedy, so we lazed around the villa and ordered takeaway from Fortune Cookie chinese restaurant.

I developed quite a sore throat by the Thursday so one of the staff at the villa took us to a local apotek where I got some Amoxycillin for 75,000rp (15 tablets). Tried to sell me some at 180,000rp at first, but I asked for some cheaper. I'm on my second dose of tablets since being home, so I guess the first lot didn't do much!

Went to Kuta for shopping at Matahari and Discovery Plaza. I am a bit over haggling for prices now so prefer fixed price shops. Went to Tootsies new shop at Sanur and got T-shirts for 25,000 so happy with that. Also a sequined top for 60,000.

Walked down to the beach at Sanur one night after dinner as we could hear fireworks so went to watch them. In the distance there was a cruise ship all lit up coming in to the harbour. It was a full moon and the beach looked beautiful. I suddenly felt something crawling across my foot and my first instinct was that it was a crab. I looked down to see a long black snake across my foot.It was about a metre long.
Naturally, I screamed, swore, and flung my foot out so it would get off. It slithered away down the sand into the water. A local guy came over and said "don't worry, not poisonous".
Every local girl I told the story to, didn't seem bothered by the fact that it was snake. They all said they can't stand Gecko's!

One night I went to see Anne Sinclair in Sanur who is a Spiritualist/Healer. It is a one on one session that takes about 2.5 hours with Tarot/Palmistry/Numerology and meditation. It is by appoinment and by donation. It was very interesting and enlightening.
She gives you a CD so you can listen back to it later.
Hubby is not into that sort of thing so he just went for his daily massage.

Went back to Dr ** the day before we left so she could check the botox. I wanted some filler (Esthelis) as well, so she did that too.
What I liked about her was that she wouldn't do something she didn't think necessary, and didn't try to give you something you didn't need.
She wouldn't give me any more botox, but I wanted the filler.
After that, back to more shopping at Kuta!

So our days were filled with shopping, massages, eating at various places at the beach, lazing in the pool and simply relaxing.
Flew home *class on Jet* so got to utilise the Premier lounge at the airport. Thought it was great, much better that the Prada lounge we normally go in.
So as I always say...Australia is my home, but Bali is my heart...
P.S. No wonder there are not many JBR's lately..took me numerous attempts to post this and had to delete some names as admin wouldn't allow.
