Sort of JBR as I'm not very good with these.
HAVE to recommend the Cat & FIddle in South Sanur if you like bbqd pork spare ribs, they are to die for, spicy - succulent - lots of meat. First time there the family had a range of dinners (all good) but my daughter had the ribs which we all sampled. Next time we went back JUST for the ribs. Also ate at Isola (La Taverna) went there one night as they had jazz, the music was excellent and food just as good, their pizzas have very thin crisp base just as I like them! ALso ate at Casa Luna - verygood.
Anyone looking for (real) leather bags, in SOuth Sanur a leather shope been there for years and the bags are great.
Unfortunately not everthing was great we stayed at the Peneeeda View Hotel, this was our 3rd visit there over a 10 year period. First off I will say that it is good value for money, BUT they don't seem to care too much about service, restaurant staff could never get simple breakfast order correct and by the time they did the eggs were cold. Rooms were never cleaned properly and although they would empty the rubbish bins from toile and bathroom it was into a small bin on the patio and they NEVER emptied them until I went the complain as they would be overflowing and smelling (0ver 10 day period), And my last main complaint is the lighting in the rooms is very bad,m on arrival at 17oo hours we had to use a torch to open the lock on suitcase as it was too dark in the room even with lights on.
Next time we will pay a little more and stay elsewhere.
We had an overnight in Ubud and on recommendations of posters here we visited the Kampung Cafe at Tegallalang had a great lunch and the views were beautiful, had a sneak at their cottages ane nest time would consider staying there instead of Ubud.
Last 3 nights were in Kuta and stayed at the Santika Beach, hadn't stayed there for quite a few years and loved it even more than before as now love what they have done to the beachfront area
