Hi Django
Absolutely love this place, beautiful resort, great location on the beach, excellent restaurant and very friendly staff,
The Menjangan snorkelling is the best I have done, and now leaves from in front of the hotel. 450k each, including gear, boat & a roll for lunch. They leave about 9 am and back at 2pm. The snorkelling is brilliant, with plenty of coral and fish, and an amazing vertical dropoff about 30 metres from shore.
The snorkelling in Pemuteran is not bad either, since their reef revitalisation scheme.
There are about 5 or 6 hotels around the bay you can eat at too.
The food at Taman Sari is great, especially Bebek Betutu, and breakfasts on the beach.
Amertha is owned by the same people and has the same menu, we haven't tried Pondok Bali, but have heard good reports.
Taman Selini does good greek food.
There is a general store on the main road which has most things, but we only got some Bintang there.
There is no town life as such, but the bay is beautiful, and a walk around it, passing through the little fishing village is good.
As for the rooms, we stayed in Junior sites 6 (sea view) & 14 (garden view) and loved both of them. They are big, clean with great outdoor bathrooms and daybeds. They also have fridges, which the standard rooms don't. They are $110 & $108. If you don't need a fridge or daybed, rooms 7, 8 & 9 are just as good at $82.
I'm sure you will love it, as we do, if you want any more info, just email me
Hope this helps
Cheers
Rodger
