BALI first timer

My partner and I have just booked our first overseas trip to Bali, travelling in October. We've lashed out a little and staying in the Padma resort, Legian.
I'm just wondering how best to spend our time... must see/experience, must eat/drink places? (7 days.. it doesn't seem long enough!) Any out of the ordinary tricks of the trade we should know about? I heard about the 25 US dollars on arrival into Bali etc....
