We stayed in villa 1 which was set up with 2 bedrooms (airconditioned) and open air lounge, kitchen. There is a small front garden area with a lockable gate. One room had a queen bed and the other room had a queen bed + single. The problem we encountered was that it was too hot to sit on the open air lounge (the ceiling was too high for the fan to be of use) and so we ended up in the bedrooms each night just like a hotel room! Also the cleaning was hopeless (all male staff) and the staff loved sitting around and entertaining their friends (playing computer games together in the empty villa!) The location though was good. There is another villa that is not open air that would be better - but that was considerably more expensive.
Have stayed at Adika Sari around the corner, and the family room there may suit you better - its 2 level with the upstairs bedroom having 2 single beds and a bathroom, downstairs is bedroom with queen bed and bathroom with good sized lounge/dining. All enclosed and well airconditioned/cooled. Adika Sari also have 1 interconnecting room above the restaurant and their prices are very good on other rooms.
Out of these 2 I would recommend Adika Sari.
Cannot comment on your other thought though!
